Privacy Notice
I have a legal duty to explain how I use any personal information I collect about you as a patient. I will maintain records about you and the psychotherapy you receive in electronic and/or paper form.
I may collect personal information such as your name, address and contact details. I process this information as necessary to provide my services under our therapeutic agreement, in accordance with Article 6(1)(b) of the UK GDPR. I may also collect relevant health and other sensitive information to enable me to provide appropriate therapeutic care, in accordance with Article 9(2)(h) of the UK GDPR. I may receive information from another practitioner who contacts me on your behalf.
Your information is collected for the purpose of providing psychotherapy and will be treated confidentially. As part of my professional practice, my clinical work is discussed in supervision, with all identifying details omitted. Information will otherwise be disclosed only with your consent, where required by law, or where there is a serious risk of harm.
Enquiries that do not lead to psychotherapy will normally be deleted after six months. Client records will be protected, stored securely and retained for six years after psychotherapy has ended.
You have the right to request access to the information I hold about you and to have any inaccuracies corrected. In certain circumstances, you may also request that your personal information be restricted or deleted, unless I am required to retain it for legal or professional reasons.
Please contact me with any questions or concerns about how your information is used. You also have the right to make a complaint to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
